North Wales Bikepacking

North Wales Fatbike Overnighter

Two days, three riders, 112 miles, 6,000ft climbing and not a skinny tyre in sight. From Tan Lan to Bangor and back, we took fatbikes where most people wouldn’t: beaches, trails, gravel, woodlands, and every coastal town in between.

Day 1: 68 miles straight into a headwind. The fat tyres did their thing, rolling stubbornly forward until the payoff — the Great Orme descent in the sun, and a lifesaving stop at the Corner Storr coffee shop (fuel never tasted so good).

Day 2: No rest. We turned inland, swapping sea breeze for the climbs of the Conwy mountains. Legs burned, views delivered, and the ride back into Tan Lan felt like finishing a mini-epic.

Warm weather, wide tyres, good mates sometimes that’s all you need for a weekend to stick in your head forever.
